Sunny Side Up! is a place for me, a gal who is 21 years of age and unanimously recognized in her tiny universe as an 'old soul', to store a few of my favorite things & to share them with new and (hopefully) friendly individuals.
Ulrika Sandstrom's s/s 2009 collection takes its inspiration from the film The Science of Sleep . I find myself swooning over the above slacks which I shall never have in my possession because I make less than $30,000 a year which comes out to a depressing TOO EXPENSIVE & HIGH CLASS FOR ME. Perhaps I'll be able to find a cheaper cousin, yes?
Coincidentally, pants of this nature always make me smile because they hearken back to a certain Katharine Hepburn woman for me:
I'm really intrigued by Antler Magazine . Its an online publication with a little bit of everything; art, music, fashion, and culture. The first issue is written in interview format but, the creator says that each issue will take shape differently. So far, its free (!!!) so, you have no reason to ignore the above link and enjoy! I did.
1.) Kisses given to me by small children. 2.) Grapes. 3.) The Andy Giffith Show in the evening. 4.) The name Lissette. 5.) Finding new and lovely blogs to explore late at night.
I'm back. I'm upset and hurt right now. I don't want to get into it because nobody wants to hear depressing things from a stranger when we all have our own problems, right?
So, to cheer myself and perhaps, a few of you; I present the third of my favorite movie moments, brought back with a vengeance thanks to a little reminder over on FABULON .
A cute little number with some very swell dancing performed by three amazing entertainers; Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds, and Gene Kelly; who coincidentally, had family members in my small town, I give you:
Hi loves! I'm very busy as of late so, I'm sorry for the lack of interesting tidbits around these parts. I'm currently helping my best friend get through some tough times. However, I've been collecting some amazing imagery that has tickled my fancy & I wanted to share the beauty with you. Enjoy.
1.) Children. 2.) The cutie who has been picking me up after therapy the past two times I've gone and the fact that he's shamelessly flirting with me. 3.) The fact that I've been so inexplicably happy lately. 4.) The black tshirt I'm wearing today. The one with all of the musical logos I bought at that Broadway shop last year. 5.) Anticipation of seeing my second Broadway production; South Pacific.
1.) Speed walking on trails on fairly nice days, keeping pace to the beat of the song eminating from my MP3 player. 2.) New listeners on blip.fm. 3.) Chicken salad made with red leaf lettuce, with basalmic vinegarette and a few teaspoons of smoky horseradish mixed in for good measure. 4.) Lists, of anything at all. 5.) Writing new, comprenshive "About Me" sections on new websites I join.
Artist Jen Khoshbin, whose book sculputures I highlighted in a previous post, here , is the curator of a new artistic project titled Jen 11 . Basically, eleven women named Jennifer have grouped together with the purpose of creating art of their choosing to add to this "Jeneration" of artistic endeavors.
I adore the premise so, I headed over there and previewed some of the talent and I was floored by some very lovely, ethereal pieces, especially those of:
If you're a lucky bluebell and reside in any of those three areas, I highly reccomend you scoot over there and set your eyes on some artistic beauty. It'll cheer you up!
1.) Even when we have gone without talking for months at a time, my Heatherface and I can just pick up right where we left off. 2.) I'm very lucky to be able to put even a small amount of money back for the trips I want to take this year. 3.) I now have a wonderful friend who resides in California so, that gives me the perfect excuse to go there like I've wanted to for years. 4.) I'm so happy that I paid my library dues so now I have more incentive to finish one book so I can go on to the next in line. 5.) Ice Breakers new berry flavored Ice Cubes gum.
Look at this little beauty via From the Desk of Mrs. Gorman ! Ohhh, my heart yearns.. I honestly think that, if I were in possession of such a lovely writing tool, I would be inspired to do much, MUCH more than I do now..
Speaking of writing, perhaps I'll start posting some here in the future. Its a thought..
my tastes are eclectic, to say the least.
I love the 40s and 50s, pre-code Hollywood, Broadway, crooners and songbirds, day dressses and red lips and nails; everything Grandma misses, I prefer.
Lucille Desiree Ball has saved me from the throngs of death. She's constantly on my television and in my heart.
I would love to get to know as many of you incredible people as I can. I've been an incessant blog reader/lurker for awhile now but, expect that to change dramatically as I allow my thoughts and opinions to pour forth without inhibitions on this, my baby blog, and in comments throughout the blogosphere.
I hope you won't mind. :-)
If any of you might like to get to know me better; if I spark your interest, or you perhaps, find me endearing (!!, please feel free to take a look at and friend request my personal MySpace or, if you prefer, my Twitter .
