Sunny Side Up! is a place for me, a gal who is 21 years of age and unanimously recognized in her tiny universe as an 'old soul', to store a few of my favorite things & to share them with new and (hopefully) friendly individuals.
My favorite segment of one of my top 10 movies of all time, Judgment at Nuremberg and also, perhaps, Judy Garland's best performance, in my opinion. She evokes pure, raw emotion. I truly love this short, powerful performance to be one of her very best.
Jennine, of The Coveted, recently posted this about an exhibit currently being shown at the City Hall library in Paris, which she recently viewed on a trip. The photographs included are shot in color film which, in and of itself is a rarity for the era.
Jennine gives her thoughts on how a lot of women today are living in much the same detatched state as is shown in this photo essay of Parisian ladies in 1940s wartime.
A short post but, it does force me to reflect on how I, too, have seperated myself from today's reality and how it is time for me to do anything within my power to change the state of affairs in my country even by the simple act of voting against the current administration and anyone who wishes to continue on with a simiar agenda.
I, for one, am eager for us, as a country, to battle our way back into the light of economical prosperity, justice, and charity toward our fellow human beings.
my tastes are eclectic, to say the least.
I love the 40s and 50s, pre-code Hollywood, Broadway, crooners and songbirds, day dressses and red lips and nails; everything Grandma misses, I prefer.
Lucille Desiree Ball has saved me from the throngs of death. She's constantly on my television and in my heart.
I would love to get to know as many of you incredible people as I can. I've been an incessant blog reader/lurker for awhile now but, expect that to change dramatically as I allow my thoughts and opinions to pour forth without inhibitions on this, my baby blog, and in comments throughout the blogosphere.
I hope you won't mind. :-)
If any of you might like to get to know me better; if I spark your interest, or you perhaps, find me endearing (!!, please feel free to take a look at and friend request my personal MySpace or, if you prefer, my Twitter .
