Zsa Zsa, Ha Ha!

I'm not what you would call a fan of Miss Zsa Zsa Gabor. However, I'm a fan of antics like the following:

Zsa Zsa's workout. It's simple, dahling! (Especially when you have a ripped guy to move your limbs FOR you!:

CHARLESTON!

I can't even say that I hope to be that spry when I'm 60 or so because, hell, I'm not that spry NOW!

I Love Lucy- The Not-So-Overplayed Best;1.

As everyone who has visited here even only a time or two know, Lucille Ball is my FAVORITE actress & comedienne.

I've decided to periodically post my favorite Lucy moments however, I'll be highlighting the ones that are almost always overlooked. That means, if you're expecting Lucy's infamous foray into candy making or that strategically placed wick-in-putty nose, you are looking in the wrong place but, I promise they'll make you smile.

Probably.

Most likely.

Hopefully..

I'm kicking it off with Season 6 episode; Ragtime Band, and the scene is the gang's rendition of Man Smart, Woman Smarter.

PS- Has anyone else noticed how every time Keith Thibedeaux (Little Ricky) plays the drums, he sticks his little tounge out? How adorable is that, right?

Krista's Top 10 All-Time Favorite Television Theme Songs.

Inspired by a previous post on 1000 Awesome Things , I got to thinking about my personal list of favorite Classic television theme songs and so, I thought I would share them with you.

**As a sidenote; just because I like the theme does not imply that I enjoy said program.

Krista's Top 10 All-Time Favorite Classic TV Themes:

10.)Photobucket
** Green Acres

9.) Photobucket
The Jeffersons

8.) **Mr. Ed:

7.) Leave it to Beaver:

6.) The Carol Burnett Show:

5.)The Dick van Dyke Show:

4.) The Andy Griffith Show:

3.) All in the Family:

2.) The Golden Girls:

1.) I Love Lucy; with the lyrics!:

I think its kind of a shame that we no longer have memorable theme songs to go along with our TV viewing but then again, TV is not what it once was, anyway.

So, what are your top TV Themes? Which ones make you smile or bring back memories?

Super Mario, Reenacted!

This is fantastic:

My mother and I were addicted to said game in the late 90s. I'd stay up far past my 9:30 bed time and be oh so tired at school the next day.
Nerd extraordinaire!
Also, this is from that show that they use as comedic fodder on MXC , which I admittedly once watched far too much of not so long ago.

Oh, the Joys of Public Television!

Forget Dora, pretend Yo Gabba, Gabba never existed; I miss Shari & Lamb Chop! I was four, five and EVERY SINGLE DAY I had to watch them. I bawled when they cancelled her in favor of that purple blob they called a dinosaur. A compilation including a swell variation on ?Do, Re, Mi:

And the part I liked best:

Along with Shari & her puppet posse, my father and I watched Mr. Roger's Neighborhood every night when he would get home from work. You know how he would occasionally visit different places of work within 'the neighborhood' and they would cut to the street to show that he was going somewhere? I would be sitting on the floor and I would pound my feet on the ground pretending to 'walk' along with him to the music shop or the bakery or what have you.

My all time favorite thing about this show however, was not "The Land of Make Believe." I was nuts for Picture, Picture:

Coincidentally, my brother's first favorite television show was Shining Time Station:

Can you believe Mr. Conductor was George Carlin ? I never understood how funny that was until years later, of course.
I am four years older than my brother so, I was getting too 'cool' for such shows by the time this came around but, I too, had a part that I secretly liked and no, it wasn't the "Thomas, the Tank Engine hullabaloo.
It was the jukebox!

Ah, now, that was great children's entertainment!

What were some of your childhood television favorites?

FIRST OFFICIAL POST!!

Well, welcome my darlings!

I've had the idea of a personal record in blog form turning over in my head for quite some time and, on this dreadful (SNOWY....I cannot believe I just typed that..) mid-May morning, I buckled down and got busy setting up my little treasure trove in order to tuck away little rays of sunshine that give me hope, turn my frown upside down, and 'warm me up' (or so to speak.)

and so...

Shall we begin with a little Lucy?
(my friends who I've directed here, would expect nothing less!)

I've been been flipped "sunny side up" by this little light countless times in the past few months..

I present for your enjoyment,
Mr. Foster Brooks' contribution to the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast for Miss Lucille Ball circa mid-seventies:

Thanks.
